Dimension Films has finally given John Hillcoat’s long-delayed adaptation of The Road a new release date – nearly a year after it was original slated to hit theaters. Starring Viggo Mortensen, Charlize Theron, Guy Pearce, Kodi Smit-McPhee and Robert Duvall, Dimension will put the film in theaters on October 16 of this year, assuming the date sticks this time. The story centers on a man who embarks on a nightmarish road trip after a nuclear explosion in an attempt to transport his son to safety while fending off cannibals.
