Sony Screen Gems Begins Developing ‘Quarantine 2’
We got a little scoop to get you through another slow weekend. Word has come into Bloody-Disgusting that Sony Screen Gems has officially started development on Quarantine 2, the sequel to the box office success from last October that grossed over 30m here in the States. The first film was a nearly shot-for-shot remake of the Spanish horror film [REC] (arriving on DVD this July from Sony), while we’re being told that Screen Gems is looking for a totally original pitch for the sequel. Filmax is in post-production on their own sequel to [REC] that’s slated for release later this year in Spain.
Spider One (Bury the Bride, Little Bites) is back in the director’s chair for this year’s Big Baby, a meta slasher that sees Brandon Scott (Dead to Me) puppeteering slasher kills in our exclusive teaser debut.
Brainstorm Media will release the film on VOD on August 7, 2026.
In the upcoming slasher, “A nightmare involving a maniac killer in a baby mask serves as inspiration for horror screenwriter Adam Lewis’s new script. As more nightmares, visions, and real life terror begin to challenge Adam’s sanity, he finds himself in a desperate struggle to control his writing, his reality, and who will be Big Baby’s next victim.”
