While we have yet to confirm this (so please take it as rumor for now), we’re being told that John Carpenter will be getting behind the camera for Fangland, a film set up as a starring vehicle for Oscar winner Hilary Swank (The Reaping). She would play a TV producer who travels to Romania for an interview with a notorious European arms dealer. Turns out, he’s a modern-day Dracula. John Marks, writer of the novel, is a former “60 Minutes” producer. Mark Wheaton (The Messengers) penned a previous draft. Carpenter is in post-production on The Ward, which stars Amber Heard.
