Two New Hi-Res Stills from ‘Daybreakers’

Published

on

Lionsgate has really started to push Peter and Michael Spierig’s futuristic vamp film Daybreakers, which features Ethan Hawke, Sam Neill, Willem Dafoe, Claudia Karvan, Michael Dorman and Vince Colosimo. We caught the bloody pic at the TIFF this past September (read the review) and are happy to report that it’s quite a good time. You’ll be able to catch it on January 8th. Until then, beyond the break you can dig on two brand spanking new stills that feature vamp Edward Dalton, a researcher in the year 2019, in which an unknown plague has transformed the world’s population into vampires. As the human population nears extinction, vampires must capture and farm every remaining human, or find a blood substitute before time runs out. However, a covert group of vampires makes a remarkable discovery, one which has the power to save the human race.

The project for Blumhouse and Platinum Dunes is being described as a “fast-paced thriller,” and Deadline reports today that Violett Beane (Truth or Dare) has joined the cast.

Newcomer Jacob Robinson has also signed on to star in the mysterious thriller. Previously announced, Meghann Fahy (“White Lotus”) will be leading the cast.

Landon recently teased on Twitter, “This is my love letter to DePalma.”

Jillian Jacobs and Chris Roach wrote the script.
