The English-language adaptation of John Ajvide Lindqvist’s bestselling Swedish novel, “Lat den Ratte Komma In”, is a contemporary vampire tale about a young boy who befriends a girl new to his neighborhood. Could the Matt Reeves directed film starring Kody Smit McPhee and Chloe Moretz in the lead roles live up to the original Swedish film Let the Right One In? Probably not, but I’d say the footage looks pretty damn good (especially if you’ve never seen the original – it looks like it’s basically shot-for-shot).
