SD Comic-Con ’10: Thank the Heavens! Sam Raimi Goes Post-Apocalyptic With ‘Earp’!
Just in time for Comic-Con, Sam Raimi has signed to helm and produce a pic based on graphic novel Earp: Saints for Sinners (read more) for DreamWorks, Radical Studios, Mandeville and Raimi’s Star Road Entertainment. While it’s unclear how dark the project is, “Earp: Saints for Sinners” is a modern-day re-imagining of Western hero Wyatt Earp fighting outlaws in a ravaged society where the only boomtown left is Las Vegas. “Earp” was created by Matt Cirulnick and Mandeville Films’ David Manpearl, and written by Cirulnick and Zachary Sherman. Cirulnick, who will unveil artwork and story details at Radical’s panel at Comic-Con on Thursday, will adapt. This is such a nice departure from Spider-Man and the potential War Craft. This is the area I love to see Raimi working in. You?

‘Rebel Moon – Part One: Director’s Cut’ Rated “R” for Brutal Bloody Violence & Graphic Nudity
Zack Snyder’s two-part sci-fi epic Rebel Moon is now streaming in full on Netflix, with last year’s Part One: A Child of Fire followed by this year’s Part Two: The Scargiver.
But the Rebel Moon saga is far from over, because Zack Snyder’s Director’s Cuts of both movies are coming to Netflix. And they’re said to each be around ONE HOUR LONGER.
Of particular note, the Rebel Moon Director’s Cuts will be rated “R,” promising the bloody violence that wasn’t found in the PG-13 versions of the two movies currently on Netflix.
For starters, Rebel Moon – Part One: Director’s Cut has been rated “R” for…
“Brutal bloody violence and gore, sexual content, graphic nudity and language.”
We don’t yet have a release date for these Director’s Cuts. Stay tuned.
From Zack Snyder, the filmmaker behind 300, Man of Steel, and Army of the Dead, comes Rebel Moon, an epic science-fantasy event decades in the making.
When a peaceful colony on the edge of a galaxy finds itself threatened by the armies of a tyrannical ruling force, Kora (Sofia Boutella), a mysterious stranger living among the villagers, becomes their best hope for survival. Tasked with finding trained fighters who will unite with her in making an impossible stand against the Mother World, Kora assembles a small band of warriors — outsiders, insurgents, peasants and orphans of war from different worlds who share a common need for redemption and revenge.
As the shadow of an entire Realm bears down on the unlikeliest of moons, a battle over the fate of a galaxy is waged, and in the process, a new army of heroes is formed.
Ed Skrein, Charlie Hunnam, Djimon Hounsou, Doona Bae, Ray Fisher, Sofia Boutella, Stuart Martin, Jena Malone, Staz Nair, E. Duffy, Charlotte Maggi, and Sky Yang star alongside Michiel Huisman, Cary Elwes, Corey Stoll, and Alfonso Herrera.
