Genre Quartet Team for Horror Anthology ‘Chillerama’
Bloody Disgusting’s BC writes in with a surprise announcement out of the FrightFest in London. Adam Green (Hatchet, Frozen) and Joe Lynch (The Knights of Badassdom, Wrong Turn 2) are teaming for a new horror anthology, CHILLERAMA, which also include the works of Adam Rifkin (Detroit Rock City) and Tim Sullivan (2001 Maniacs, Driftwood). You’ll find the first details inside!
News reported by BC:
The plot details follow the last drive-in theater in America that’s closing its doors. The owner is having one final night. BC explains that it’s not like Creepshow in that it all fits together as one movie.
The shocker? Production is almost complete and we will hear more near end of the year.
Rifkin’s segment is entitled “Wadzilla”, which is in sprint of ’50s monster movies. It’s about a guy looking to raise his sperm count, and things going disastrously wrong. The special effects work are being done by Chiodo brothers (Killer Klowns from Out Space).
Sullivan is presenting “I Was a Teenage Werebear”, which is like ’50s surf movie (Beach Blanket Bingo).
Green presents “The Diary of Anne Frankenstein”, which is a ’40s war film starring Joel Moore (Avatar, Hatchet), Kane Hodder (Friday the 13th films, Hatchet), and Kristina Klebe (Halloween, BreadCrumbs). It’s about Hitler (played by Moore) creating the perfect killing machine to win the war.
Lynch will bring us a new zombie movie that’s in the vein of ’70s/’80s undead flicks. Lynch says the best way to sum it up is “when there’s no more room in hell, the dead will f*ck the earth.”
There will be no further details until end of the year.
Green is going to show “Diary” in its entirety to the crowd at FrightFest, catching everyone off guard. Holy crap! Can you say jealous?

‘Monster Maker’ Documentary to Celebrate Special Effects Master Stan Winston
Production is underway on Monster Maker, a documentary that will profile legendary special effects master Stan Winston, Deadline reports today.
Barney Douglas (McEnroe) directs and produces Monster Maker.
In the doc, “From the Terminator emerging from flames, to the Predator removing its mask and the groundbreaking dinosaurs of Jurassic Park, many of cinema’s most iconic characters and creature effects were created by Stan Winston and his team. Through never-before-seen archive material, behind the scenes footage of iconic Hollywood movies, and interviews with family, friends, and collaborators including James Cameron, Monster Maker tells the story of the visionary artist whose work helped define modern blockbuster filmmaking.”
The documentary will feature new interviews with The Terminator and Aliens director James Cameron, producer Frank Marshall, and former LucasFilm President Kathleen Kennedy. Also expect cast members who worked with Winston to weigh in on Monster Maker, including Jeff Goldblum and his filming experience on Jurassic Park with “Winston’s cantankerous Tyrannosaurus Rex.“
Winston passed away in 2008 at the age of 62, leaving behind an incredible legacy in film. The four-time Oscar winner might be best known for his work on the Terminator, Jurassic Park, Predator, and Alien franchises, but his expansive work also includes The Relic, Pandorum, Avatar, and more. Winston also made his directorial debut with Pumpkinhead.
Monster Maker is produced by Frank Marshall (Raiders of the Lost Ark, Jurassic World, The Bourne Identity, Seabiscuit). Tamzin Merchant, Paddy Kelly and Steve Williams produce for Strange Bird. Drew Masters and Chris Grubb executive produce for Whisper. Dogwoof co-produces, with Anna Godas, Oli Harbottle, and Will Kane serving as executive producers. Keith Haviland executive produces for Haviland Digital.
