See Josh Stewart’s ‘The Collection’ in 3-D

Bloody Disgusting learned that Josh Stewart will return in The Collection as “Arkin”, a man who survived the grasp of the first film’s killer. Instead of recovering from the trauma, Arkin is suddenly abducted from the hospital by mercenaries hired by Elena’s (who was kidnapped in the first film) wealthy father. Arkin is blackmailed to team up with the mercenaries and track down The Collector’s booby trapped hide out and save Elena from his sadistic rituals. Marcus Dunstan returns behind the camera from a screenplay he co-wrote with Patrick Melton. The plan is to shoot this in “real 3-D”. I thoroughly enjoyed the first film, what about you guys?

It seems like we just keep reporting on brand new shark attack horror movies, and that’s definitely not a complaint. This next one is titled High Tide, and Deadline brings us the scoop.

Lizzy Greene (A Million Little Things) will star and executive produce.

The upcoming survival horror movie “strands a group of friends on a swiftly submerging tidal island deep in the Pacific, where they are soon hunted by the ocean’s greatest predator.”

Deadline details, “Lizzy Greene will play Hannah who, mourning the death of her sister, takes off around the world. Her journey leads her to Fiji and on a tour of an isolated atoll – a volcanic island that disappears with each high tide. But when the group are stranded, the rapidly rising ocean begins to reveal its terrifying inhabitants.”

David Straiton (“Hemlock Grove”) is directing High Tide.

Erik Patterson and Jessica Scott (Abandoned) wrote the screenplay.

Architect’s Calum Gray previews, “You couldn’t ask for a more ingenious and thrilling high concept than High Tide. It’s so concrete, so memorable. For a survival thriller, it’s the perfect cocktail of a treacherous, ultra-challenging environment and a single-minded, relentless antagonist. It will thrill global audiences to their core. The excellent Lizzy Greene plays a hugely relatable and highly sympathetic character who we will root for, while David and his seasoned team will craft around her a paradisal, exotic but dangerously immersive world.”
