Vulture reports this morning that director David O. Russell is exiting Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, the project based on the best-selling novel by Seth Grahame-Smith, and instead plans to make the dramedy Old St. Louis starring Vince Vaughn as his next film. Can you say LAME? The issue was an apparent scheduling conflict with Pride star Natalie Portman, who was also the picture’s producer at Lionsgate Films. We’ll keep you posted with a new director announcement as soon as it comes. Jane Austen fans are in for a shock in Zombies, with heroine Elizabeth Bennet and her four sisters becoming zombie slayers and taught how to fight like Japanese ninjas by Mr Darcy.
