Published

on

While the film was pulled from last night’s Screamfest Horror Film Festival (that cannot be good), the first full trailer and a new behind-the-scenes video from Jennifer Lynch’s Hisss have made their way online. FX artist Robert Kurtzman’s the Creature Corps travels to India for the production of Hisss, the anticipated Bollywood Horror film that explores the legend of the Nagin (snake woman). See the development of the elaborate FX for the film from concept design, to construction, to completion as the Corps works with Filmmaker Jennifer Lynch (Boxing Helena, Surveillance) and Bollywood Superstar Mallika Sherawat to bring this legend to life! Watch PART ONE and keep your eyes peeled for part two soon.

The Curse of the Cobra Goddess – anytime man desecrates or violates the cobra, they are doomed to suffer the petrifying curse of the snake woman, of death and infertility. Only respect and worship can keep the population safe and the women fertile.

Over 4000 years ago the inhabitants of the Indus Valley sculpted the image of the shape shifting snake. These half cobras, half human creatures were said to inhabit an awesome, mysterious temple, made of material unknown to mankind, deep within the jungles, far, far away in the legendary spice forests of the Malabar Coast. Children grew up hearing about the story recounted to their grandfathers, by their forefathers about an ancestor, who had journeyed to the edge of the world, and came back to recount a frightening story about the Snake Goddess and her mate…. and from here the legend travelled across India, and the far east along the silk route – passed on from generation to generation for thousands of years until this day.

It is the year 2008, an American man, named George, packing high tech gear, and evil intentions, makes the arduous journey into the heart of the forbidden forest. He captures a male cobra the size of a large python when he’s at his weakest, while mating. Little does he realize when they embark on testing this mysterious creature in their high-tech lab, what horror and destruction awaits him….

Trevor Henderson’s viral artwork is all the rage in the wake of Backrooms changing the game for internet-created horror, with his creation Siren Head getting a feature film adaptation from Warner Bros. Deadline now reports that Henderson’s Cartoon Cat artwork is also getting a film adaptation, with Sony’s TriStar Pictures picking up the feature film rights.

Producers on board for the Cartoon Cat movie include Roy Lee, Steven Schneider, Scott Glassgold, and J. Todd Harris, along with Thomas Pettinelli and Marc Marcum.

Deadline notes in tonight’s report, “TriStar is said to be looking to hit the ground running on the filmmaker search to bring Cartoon Cat to life. The menacing cat is described as an ancient hollow rot that uses the collective human awareness and memories of old cartoons as a passageway to manifest into our reality – and wreak violent havoc.”

“Nicole Brown and Malcolm Gray of Tri-Star are responsible for wrangling the evil cat and will oversee its fast-tracked development,” Deadline’s exclusive report continues.

All of us here at Bloody Disgusting have been big fans of Trevor’s artwork for many years now, with his podcast Mayfair Watchers Society living on our BloodyFM Podcast Network.
