John Carpenter’s The Thing is easily one of my all-time favorite horror films. To this day, the story, the music, the practical FX (Dear god, the practical FX!!!) all combine to create one of the most intense and incredible sci-fi/horror experiences you can find.
Another thing I’m a huge fan of is classic big band music. I love kicking back with a glass of whiskey to some Dean Martin, Frank Sinatra, etc… So the very thought of big band combined with The Thing is nearly enough to make my chest open up and eat some guy’s arms.
After the jump, you can check out The Thing: The Musical, courtesy of the same people who gave us Predator: The Musical and Conan The Barbarian: the Musical.
