I’m not exactly sure what’s going on with posters these days, but I’m not quite sure giant heads of semi-stars is going to sell your movie. The UK quad for Dominic Sena’s Season of the Witch was released and features Nicolas Cage’s giant mug floating over a montage of war, a possessed chick and the pentagram. I’m nervous this film is more of a thriller than a horror film, otherwise they might put something cool on the poster like the “witch”. In theaters January 7, Cage stars as a 14th century Crusader who returns with his comrade to a homeland devastated by the Black Plague. A beleaguered church, deeming sorcery the culprit of the plague, commands the two knights to transport an accused witch to a remote abbey, where monks will perform a ritual in hopes of ending the pestilence.
