It looks like the holidays have officially come to and end as a blast of news has just hit the Web. Heat Vision has some spectacular news to report as they’re telling us that Gareth Edwards, the British filmmaker who wrote and directed indie sci-fi movie Monsters, is closing a deal to develop and direct the creature feature Godzilla for Legendary Pictures, the company that helped produce blockbusters such as Inception and The Dark Knight. Bloody Disgusting broke the news exclusively that Legendary picked up the rights to the giant lizard from Japan’s Toho Co. wayyyyy in August 2009. No word on if the plan is still to release it in 3-D. Making his first appearance in 1954 (Gojira) Godzilla is a giant monster that lives in the sea that comes from the ocean to feed on mankind.
