Gold Circle Hires Trio to Trap a Ghost in ‘Silk’

Gold Circle Films has hired Marko King, Mary King and Jonathan Watters, the scribe trio who helped write the Halle Berry drama Frankie & Alice, to write the American remake of Taiwanese supernatural thriller Silk, says THR.

The 2006 film was a yarn about scientists who capture the ghost of a child in an apartment and the detective charged with discovering clues to the ghost’s identity and demise.

Gold Circle is re-conceiving the film and is departing from the original’s plot. Although it keeping the new story under wraps, the project is being described as “Michael Crichton meets The Sixth Sense.”

The company is in post on horror movie The Haunting in Georgia.
