See a Dude Doing Nothing in ‘Chained’ Sales Art
Jennifer Lynch hasn’t impressed me as of late, considering I hated Hisss and wasn’t a fan of the poorly conceived Surveillance. Still, she displays some serious talent, which is why I’m stoked about Chained, being sold at AFM.
Starring Vincent D’Onofrio, Julia Ormond, Jake Weber, Eamon Farren, Conor Leslie, Evan Bird, inside you’ll find the official sales art for the thriller.
“Eight year old Tim and his mother Sarah are picked up by Bob, a deranged taxi cab driver on the hunt for his next victim. Tim witnesses his first murder, the murder of his mother, but it would not be his last. Bob keeps Tim as a reluctant protégé, forcing him to clean and bury the bodies of the young women he drags home. Now a teenager, Tim must make a life or death choice between following in Bob’s footsteps or breaking free from his captor.” 
Christopher Landon (Happy Death Day, Freaky) is staying busy here in 2024, directing not only the werewolf movie Big Bad but also an upcoming thriller titled Drop.
The project for Blumhouse and Platinum Dunes is being described as a “fast-paced thriller,” and Deadline reports today that Violett Beane (Truth or Dare) has joined the cast.
Newcomer Jacob Robinson has also signed on to star in the mysterious thriller. Previously announced, Meghann Fahy (“White Lotus”) will be leading the cast.
Landon recently teased on Twitter, “This is my love letter to DePalma.”
Jillian Jacobs and Chris Roach wrote the script.
Michael Bay, Jason Blum, Brad Fuller and Cameron Fuller — “who brought the script in to Platinum Dunes” — are producing the upcoming Drop. Sam Lerner is an executive producer.
THR notes, “The film is a Platinum Dunes and Blumhouse production for Universal.”
