An Early Look At Two Clips From ‘Ghost Rider’ Sequel
It’s hard to keep an open mind when everyone is literally bashing Columbia Pictures’ rushed sequel, Ghost Rider Spirit of Vengeance, opening in theaters February 17 from directors Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor.
Taking the PR overseas, star Nicolas Cage stopped by Italian talk show “Che tempo che fa” to share two clips from the Marvel comic adaptation. You’ll find both clips at the 8:20 and 16:20 marks (with the second in Italian). Do either pique your interest?
“In the successor to the worldwide hit ‘Ghost Rider,’ Johnny – still struggling with his curse as the devil’s bounty hunter – is hiding out in a remote part of Eastern Europe when he is recruited by a secret sect of the church to save a young boy (Fergus Riordan) from the devil (Ciaran Hinds). At first, Johnny is reluctant to embrace the power of the Ghost Rider, but it is the only way to protect the boy – and possibly rid himself of his curse forever.”
The feature directorial debut of Emily Robinson (Eighth Grade) is coming soon, and Deadline reports that Obscured Releasing has picked up her Ugly Cry for U.S. distribution.
Ugly Cry is expected to be released in theaters this Fall and later on Digital.
Also starring Emily Robinson, the horror-comedy follows a young Hollywood actress’ dark descent into body dysmorphia as she struggles to fulfill impossible beauty standards.
Ryan Simpkins, Aaron Dominguez and Robin Tunney also star.
Emily Robinson wrote the film in addition to directing and starring.
“Ugly Cry contemplates the horror of having a body in the age of the internet. What’s scarier, cringier, and funnier than modern society?” said Robinson. “Our collaboration with Obscured began at SXSW, which made it clear no one understands our genre-bendy feature better than they do. We’re thrilled to be partnering with them for our North American release.”
