[Exclusive] Brick + Mortar’s Brandon Asraf Shares His Top 10 Most Vicious Beatings

Published

on

Hot off the heels of their latest 7″, Making Moves (iTunes/Interpunk), Brick + Mortar have released a video for their song “Bangs”. The video, which you can watch below, shows the duo getting the beating of their lives after messing with the wrong guy. It is also based upon Asraf’s father and his illegal ways (check out this interview on Vice to learn more about that).

Asraf further explains, “”Bangs” is my anthem. It’s an anthem for everyone who ever tried and for all those thinking of giving up. It’s simply saying don’t. Don’t give up, f*ck fate, f*ck life, f*ck it all, if “it” tries to make you give up. Follow your dreams and be militant about it. But this music video is more that just an homage to “Blow”, “Snatch”, and my father. This video was not paid for by a huge record company our some lame brand trying to earn cool points. It was made a crew of 20 people who all volunteered their because they believe in Brick + Mortar. So I feel like this video deserves your attention.”

On top of showing you this awesome and very bloody video, Bloody-Disgusting scored Asraf’s Top 10 Most Vicious Beatings in movie scenes. Check out this list below (WARNING: There be spoilers ahead) and weigh in with your favorites in the comments!

There Will Be Blood-Daniel Day-Lewis bashes Eli’s skull with a bowling pin. “If my straw reaches across the room, I DRINK YOUR MILKSHAKE!”

Goodfellas-Ray Liota pistol whips Karen’s neighbor repeatedly. “I swear on my f*ckin’ mother, if you touch her again YOU’RE DEAD!”

Kill Bill vol 1-Black Mamba vs. The Crazy 88 “Those of you lucky enough to have your lives, take them with you. However, leave the limbs you’ve lost. They belong to me now.”

Eastern Promises-The bathhouse knife fight. Only full frontal nude fight scene we’ve seen.

American Psycho-The Huey Lewis scene. “Do you like Huey Lewis and the News? Their early work was a little too…new wave for my taste.”

The Watchmen-Rorschach beats a fellow inmate with a metal tray then pours hot oil on his head. “None of you seem to understand. I’m not locked in here with you, you’re locked in here with me!”

Old Boy-The long corridor fight scene.(Coincidentally Old Boy is a song on the same release as “Bangs”. Also being re-made by Spike Lee. We want in on the soundtrack.)

Casino-Nicky Santoro(Joe Pesci) and his brother beaten to death with baseball bats. We lost count of the number of baseball bats in this scene.

American History X-The curb stomp made us cringe. “Put your f*ckin’ mouth on the curb, now say goodnight.”

Irreversible-A guy gets his face smashed in with a fire extinguisher. Words can’t explain…

“Various strange and eerie events occur while awaiting Mbah Buyut’s return, including Mila being visited by Badarawuhi, a mysterious, mythical being who rules the village. When she decides to return the Kawaturih without the help of Mgah Buyut, Mila threatens the village’s safety, and she must join a ritual to select the new ‘Dawuh,’ a cursed soul forced to dance for the rest of her life.”
