Several Clips from Anchor Bay’s ‘Stan Helsing’

Published

on

Beyond the break you’ll find several clips from Bo Zenga’s horror spoof Stan Helsing, which stars Diora Baird, Kenan Thompson, Ben Cotton, Steve Howey, Tara Wilson, Marie Avgeropoulos, Desi Lydic and Lara Babalola. The action takes place on Halloween night, when a videostore clerk, Stan Helsing, must reluctantly save a town from the six most-feared monsters in cinematic history. Anchor Bay will release the film on Blu-ray and DVD October 27.
STAN HELSING is the hilariously terrifying saga of lovable slacker/video store clerk Stan, (Steve Howey of Reba), who heads out to a Halloween night costume party with three pals – his hot ex-girlfriend Nadine, (Wedding Crashers co-star and Maxim über-babe Diora Baird), best friend/law student Teddy, (SNL’s Kenan Thompson) and Teddy’s date, exotic dancer/massage therapist Mia, (newcomer Desi Lydic) – only to detour into a town cursed by parodies of the most iconic movie monsters of modern times: Freddy, Jason, Chucky, Pinhead, Michael Myers and Leatherface.

But when Stan discovers that he’s a direct descendant of the legendary monster hunter Van Helsing, he must defeat the monsters and drive them from the town. During which, the four will have to survive a night of cross-dressing waitresses (Leslie Nielsen), razor-gloved killers, hell raisers, hockey masks, pleather faces, psycho dolls, homicidal hitchhikers, vampire strippers, killer karaoke, and lots of hot chicks kissing each other, (okay, that part’s not so bad).

Can a guy whose motto is “Don’t get involved” learn to embrace huge doobs, awesome boobs, true love and yet still find time to save the world? The answer is a resounding yes as Stan and the gang show that they’re up to the karaoke challenge and Stan is no longer a reluctant hero but a hero through and through.

Their carefully controlled world is disrupted by the arrival of Pal, an enigmatic humanoid stranger whose presence begins to fracture the only life the twins have ever known.”

It’s a premise that calls another Canadian creeper to mind and has us intrigued: Pin.

Emma Ho, Ian Ho, and Ess Hödlmoser star.

Home Bodies is directed and produced by Casey Walker, who returns to Fantasia more than a decade after his horror-comedy A Little Bit Zombie screened at the festival in 2012. He’s since gone on to produce a number of defining Canadian genre films like In a Violent Nature, The Void, and Pyewacket.

I started my career in Montreal and Fantasia has been part of my life ever since, said Walker.I couldn’t be more thrilled to return to where it all started and share Home Bodies on such a special anniversary of the festival.
