SD Comic-Con ’10: Get Your First Look at that Animated ‘Goon’ Adaptation
As a comic series, I’m not a huge fan of Eric Powell’s The Goon, but I see potential for a fun feature film. We’ve previously been teased with some test images from the David Fincher produced animated adaptation, while today you get your first look at footage that teases its big Comic-Con debut. “The Goon” is the story about the adventures of the Goon, a muscle-bound brawler who claims to be the primary enforcer for the feared mobster Labrazio. The Goon (and his sidekick Franky) often get tied up in other machinations, often in relation to the evil zombie gangs under the command of the Nameless Zombie Priest. Produced by Dark Horse Films, Clancy Brown and Paul Giamatti lend their voices.
Up next from director Rob Savage (Host) is Other Mommy, an adaptation of Josh Malerman’s (Bird Box) novel Incidents Around the House, and the trailer has arrived.
Universal will release Other Mommy in theaters October 9, 2026.

Academy Award® winner Jessica Chastain (It Chapter Two, The Eyes of Tammy Faye) stars in dual roles as Bela’s mother and as “Other Mommy,” a manifestation of the entity.
Jay Duplass (Transparent, Industry) plays Daddo, Bela’s father, and Arabella Olivia Clark (The Housemaid, The Hand that Rocks the Cradle) plays Bela. The impressive supporting cast includes Actor Award nominee Dichen Lachman (Severance), Emmy and Tony Award nominee Arian Moayed (Succession) and screen legend Karen Allen (Indiana Jones).
Other Mommy is directed by Rob Savage (Host, The Boogeyman) from a screenplay by WGA award winner Nathan Elston, writer for the Emmy-winning sensation Succession, based on the New York Times bestselling novel Incidents Around the House by Josh Malerman (Bird Box).
