Will Universal’s ‘Dream Home’ Ever Open?

Published

on

Universal won’t open Jim Sheridan’s thriller Dream House, toplining Daniel Craig, Rachel Weisz and Naomi Watts, on February 18 after all. Variety reports that Morgan Creek Prods., which financed and produced the film, needs to shoot additional footage. Craig, however, isn’t available until the first two weeks of December, when there’s a break in filming on David Fincher’s The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo. That doesn’t leave enough time for Dream House to meet its Feb. 18 date. Morgan Creek and U are still eyeing a 2011 release, and a new date is being worked out. Penned by David Loucka, Dream House tells the story of a successful New York publisher (Craig) who moves his wife (Weisz) and children to a New England town, where they buy the home of their dreams. But the dream is shattered when they learn that the previous tenants were murdered. The husband teams with a neighbor (Watts) to learn the truth about the crime.

‘Onslaught’ Official Trailer – Unstoppable Slashers Enter ‘The Guest’ Universe This September

Published

Adam Wingard (You’re Next, The Guest) heads back into the world of The Guest for A24‘s Onslaught, and the badass official trailer has arrived this morning. Check it out below.

It looks like Wingard turned Friday the 13th into an action movie for Onslaught, which unleashes three masked maniacs billed as heat-seeking missiles in the form of humans.

And yes, they’re part of the same secret program seen in The Guest!

Wingard explains, “I look at this as a cap in the trilogy between The Guest and You’re Next. It’s not like a direct sequel, in the sense that it’s a continuation of those characters, but it takes place in the same town as The Guest. The idea is that the secret programs we’re seeing going on here are other little aspects of the same thing David’s character came from in The Guest.”

“So you could actually technically call this a sequel,” Wingard admits. “It’s in the same universe.”

Releasing in theaters on September 4, Adam Wingard’s Onslaught is Rated ‘R’ for “Strong bloody violence, some gore, sexual material/nudity, and language.”

The duo behind The Guest, director Adam Wingard and writer Simon Barrett, are re-teaming for the upcoming Onslaught, which stars Adria Arjona in the leading role.

Here’s the synopsis: “When a rogue squad of genetically engineered super soldiers break loose in the desert, a badass Army sniper must unleash hell to protect her young daughter.”

Rebecca Hall (The Night House, Godzilla x Kong) and Dan Stevens (The Guest) also star in Adam Wingard’s upcoming new movie Onslaught alongside Michael Biehn, Reginald VelJohnsonEric WareheimDrew Starkey, and Alex “Poatan” Pereira

Dan Stevens starred alongside Maika Monroe in 2014 action-thriller The Guest. He played a mysterious ex-soldier with a secret agenda who wreaks havoc on a small town.
