TV: Screen Test Character Trailers for ‘True Blood’, 3-D in the Future?
We’ve got yet another staggering amount of content for HBO’s forthcoming fourth season of “True Blood” that premires on June 26 at 9pm. Inside you’ll find 10 video trailers displaying character “screen tests.”
In addition, creator Alan Ball talked to the LA Times and revealed they did a 3-D screen test for a future episode: “We did a scene in 3-D this season just to take a look at it,” Ball said in an interview. “HBO asked us to do one. It was pretty cool. I don’t think it’s going to air. We just did it as an experiment, because I don’t know if they’re going to want to take the show 3-D at some point, maybe like a season premiere or a season finale or something. I would be surprised if — depending on how long the show lasts — that doesn’t happen at some point, especially if 3-D technology gets beyond having to wear the glasses.”
In the forthcoming season, “Sookie journeys away from Bon Temps; Eric and Bill try to win back the human public; Jason learns that no good deed goes unpunished; Tara finds refuge in close quarters; Sam bonds with his own; Hoyt and Jessica debate the dinner menu; Jesus urges Lafayette to join a coven; Terry tries to alleviate Arleneʼs fears about the baby.”
Alan Ball’s “True Blood” stars Anna Paquin, Stephen Moyer, Alexander Skarsgard, Kevin Alejandro, Nelsan Ellis, Jim Parrack, Deborah Ann Woll, Sam Trammell, Kristin Bauer van Straten, Rutina Wesley, Carrie Preston, Joe Manganiello, and Ryan Kwanten. The Season 4 newcomers include Daniel Buran, Dane DeHaan, Rebecca Wisocky, Janina Gavankar, Alexandra Breckenridge, Vedette Lim, Christina Moore, Neil Hopkins, and Chris Butler.
The killer tomatoes are back in Attack of the Killer Tomatoes: Organic Intelligence, and the offiical poster for the brand new movie has been unleashed tonight.
Additionally, we’ve learned that the film’s theatrical release is set for this August, with a panel set for San Diego Comic-Con this month featuring the world premiere of the trailer.

The film features an ensemble cast led by franchise icon John Astin (The Addams Family), reprising his role as Professor Gangreen, comedy legend David Koechner (Anchorman), Academy Award nominee Eric Roberts (The Dark Knight), horror favorite Catherine Corcoran (Terrifier), comedy veteran Dan Bakkedahl (Veep), Myrna Velasco (Star Wars Resistance), Vernée Watson (Shrinking, Fresh Prince of Bel-Air), and Paul Bates (Coming to America).
Attack of the Killer Tomatoes launched in 1979, followed by 1988’s Return of the Killer Tomatoes, 1991’s Killer Tomatoes Strike Back, and 1992’s Killer Tomatoes Eat France.
The franchise also spawned an animated series in 1990.
