‘Hellboy’ Creator Says ‘Guillermo del Toro WON’T Direct ‘Hellboy 3’

While most of the geek planet celebrates the Hellboy franchise, I find both installment’s incredibly weak (although I prefer the second). Still, I welcome a third film with open arms in hopes that it’ll continually get better. While a Hellboy 3 has ben long in the back of Guillermo del Toro’s mind, comic book creator Mike Mignola tells Movieweb that the Mexican director wouldn’t direct if it were to ever go behind cameras.

Last I heard he said he would not make it,” Mignola told the site in regards to Del Toro. “Guillermo — who I love — in every interview there’s a new story on what his next movie is and he honestly believes he’s going to do all these things. But last I heard, he said ‘I’m never gonna get back to ‘Hellboy.’ I’m not surprised because he won’t live long enough to do a tenth of the movies he’s told me he’s going to make. I can’t imagine him making a ‘Hellboy 3.’ He’s very enthusiastic and says he’s going to do all these things….ummm….he’s cute [laughed].

Not to mention the forthcoming Pacific Rim, Del Toro has his name attached to 3993, Coffin, Deadman, Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, Drood, The Haunted Mansion, Trollhunters, Witches and his own version of Frankenstein (weeeewwwwwwww *wipes forehead*). Will he direct a third Hellboy? When Hell freezes over…

‘Hell Hole’ – Monster Movie from the Adams Family Hits Shudder in August

Hell Hole

Ahead of the film’s world premiere at Fantasia this summer, the next film from The Adams Family (Hellbender, Where the Devil Roams) has received a release date this week.

Shudder will premiere Hell Hole on August 23, Rue Morgue first reported.

Fantasia previews, “A road trip through Canadian oil fields conjured up fantasies of secrets deep in the dirt for the Adams family, and inspired them to create Hell Hole, an indie rock-n-roll monster movie set at a far-away fracking site.

“Known for their DIY ethos, John and Lulu Adams and Toby Poser, partnering with Shudder, have joined the team behind The Last Drive-In with Joe Bob Briggs and FX legend Todd Masters to shoot their latest in Serbia with a local cast and crew.

“Absurd, mutinous, and transgressively comical, Hell Hole is old-school sci-fi horror, yet in typical family fashion, they subvert the genre with textures of biological and environmental horror in tandem with questions of gender and bodily autonomy.”

The cast includes Toby Poser, John Adams, Max Portman, Anders Hove, Olivera Perunicic, Aleksandar Trmcic, Petar Arsic and Bruno Veljanovski.
