‘Killing Floor’ Welcomes You To Hillbilly Horrors!

Published

on

Killing Floor is one of the few games that offers kick ass holiday events. Well this Halloween will be no different as we are thrown into one of my worst nightmares. Hillbilly Horrors! It’s running now until the November 6th, and for the duration you can get 75% off Killing Floor and 50% off all DLC for the game. The DLC comes with a completely rednecked out new map, new weapons, achievements, an unlockable character and more. Head past the break for all the goods as well as a bunch of new screens.

* 15 new achievements, 6 of them for the duration of the event only, that give you the ability to unlock the Grim Reaper himself to play as.
* The MKb42(h) assault rifle (a favorite of many heroes in the battle of Stalingrad), a WWII trench shotgun firing incendiary rounds, the Vlad 9000 nail gun that’ll nail the heads of the zombies to the barn door and a new specialist grenade for the Medic that will heal your teammates and poison those pesky zombie critters.
* The all new Hillbilly Horrors map – a redneck homestead complete with cars on blocks, junk laying everywhere, hidden secrets, and populated, of course, by bloodthirsty zombie hillbillies.
* That crazy guy in a chicken suit is also back this year as character DLC but with a twist – he’s now a cyborg chicken affectionately known as The Chickenator.

On top of all that wondrous goodness, there is a new community made weapons pack dlc for sale, with the money going straight to the creators of the weapons! Now THAT’S fuckin teamwork!

The Scythe: This is pretty much what you would expect. Long handle. Long blade. Good for reaping corn, wheat – or shambling monsters.
Tommy Gun: The Thompson sub-machine gun is an absolute classic of design and functionality, beloved by soldiers and gangsters for decades!
Flare pistol: A classic wild west revolver modified to shoot fireballs! Grab two of them for twice the fun. What Firebug wouldn’t want this addition to his arsenal?
Buzzsaw Bow: A crossbow modified to shoot spinning saw blades sounds insane, and it is. That’s why we gave this weapon to the Berserker. Just watch that little blade of death bounce around!

Dead Mail SXSW Dead Mail interview

One of the genre films we’re looking forward to checking out at SXSW this year is Dead Mail, written and directed by Joe DeBoer and Kyle McConaghy and premiering on March 9.

Meagan Navarro will be reviewing Dead Mail for Bloody Disgusting as part of her SXSW coverage, and she writes in her preview for the upcoming fest: “Dead Mail leans heavily into the ’80s analog aesthetic, delivering a unique crime thriller unafraid to get offbeat with its dark narrative. Expect its characters to be as atypical as Dead Mail‘s sense of style.”

In the SXSW 2024 horror film…

“On a desolate, Midwestern county road, a bound man crawls towards a remote postal box, managing to slide a blood-stained plea-for-help message into the slot before a panicking figure closes in behind him. The note makes its way to the county post office and onto the desk of Jasper, a seasoned and skilled “dead letter” investigator, responsible for investigating lost mail and returning it to its sender. As he investigates further, Jasper meets Trent, a strange yet unassuming man who has taken up residence at the men’s home where Jasper lives.

“When Trent unexpectedly shows up at Jasper’s office, it becomes clear he has a vested interest in the note, and will stop at nothing to retrieve it…”

Sterling Macer, Jr., John Fleck, Susan Priver, Micki Jackson, Tomas Boykin, and Nick Heyman star in Dead Mail. Preview the film with an exclusive image gallery below.
