Check out a promo poster and a slew of behind-the-scenes images from Glass Eye Pictures’ indie Beneath, which genre veteran Larry Fessenden (Wendigo) is directing. Avery discovered the pics from the film starring Daniel Zovatto, Mark Margolis, Bonnie Dennison, Chris Conroy, Jonny Orsini, Griffin Newman and Mackenzie Rosman.

The story will follow six kids stranded on a rowboat who are attacked by a man-eating fish. The horror takes a page out of Hitchock’s book as, in order to survive, the kids one-by-one vote each other off the boat.

Production is currently under way in Connecticut.

No CGI Needed: Survival Thriller ‘Savage Hunt’ Uses a Real Grizzly Bear [Image]

The “animals attack” subgenre is getting a new installment with the upcoming Savage Hunt, a survival thriller from director Roel Reiné (Halo) that Deadline has previewed today.

The site’s report – which brings us a first-look image, seen above – notes: “The production has told us they are currently using a real grizzly bear on location as part of the shoot.”

Here’s the synopsis for the upcoming Savage Hunt: “The story follows a vengeful tracker who is brought in to hunt down a large grizzly bear, which has begun attacking humans when a new local resort begins construction, disrupting the natural habitat of the wildlife.”

“We wanted to strive for as much realism as possible, showing how powerful nature can be, and the effects of man encroaching on an animal’s natural environment,” the producers said.

“Filming with a real bear in real locations with real actors is a very complex task. The production involves a lot of stunts as well and that adds to the complexity,” producer Gabriel Georgiev added. “Roel Reine is the key element for this project. His immense talent and unique cinematic taste, along with his extensive experience make this production one of a kind. We have some amazing scenes in the can already, I can’t wait to see the finished movie.”

Film Bridge International will introduce the project to buyers at the Cannes market.
