One More For Eli Roth-Produced ‘Clown’
Andy Powers (“OZ,” “Taken”) will also star in the Eli Roth-produced Clown, Bloody Disgusting exclusively can report.
He is currently in Ottawa filming the flick, produced by the Hostel and Cabin Fever director.
The film co-stars Christian DiStefano, Elizabeth Whitmere and Matthew Stefiuk.
Jon Watts is directing from a screenplay he co-wrote with Christopher D. Ford. It became an internet “thing” when a spoof trailer circulated back in 2011. In it, “A loving father dons a clown outfit, wig, bulbous nose and pancake makeup to entertain at his son’s sixth birthday after the clown-for-hire is a no-show. Unable to take off the clown garb, dad’s personality changes in horrific fashion. He and his family race to break the curse of the evil outfit before he undergoes a complete transformation into a homicidal killer with over-sized shoes.”
Clown is scheduled for release next year.

When nurse Julia finds herself trapped inside the home of her dementia patient, she begins to suspect things are not what they seem; something demonic is seeping through the cracks of this old home. Trapped and with nowhere to turn, Julia soon finds herself in battle to rid the house of this evil before it is too late.
Dawn Ford, Emmanuelle Lussier Martinez, Bill Rowat, and Mark Antony Krupa star.
“This film depicts the most harrowing 90 minutes of our protagonist’s life, and I felt that the most visceral way to really feel this was to do a single-shot film,” O’Brien previously teased. “We are with her every step and misstep she takes – through the unraveling of the mystery to the horror of her discovery. It’s a fun, twisty roller-coaster ride that puts a new spin on exorcisms.”
Bury the Devil is the first installment in a planned trilogy. The prequel, Bury the Devil: Origin, is already in development with O’Brien returning to the helm.
O’Brien produces along with Philip Kalin-Hajdu (The Sacrifice Game) and Benoit Beaulieu (Turbo Kid).
