[TV] Two More Locked “Under The Dome”

CBS has added two more cast members to their 13-episode adaptation of “Under the Dome,” set in a small town suddenly and inexplicably sealed off from the rest of the world by an enormous transparent dome. Per THR, Natalie Martinez (“CSI:NY”), “has been tapped to play Deputy Linda, a young, ambitious deputy who’s isfiercely loyal to Sheriff Duke Perkins, who runs a tight ship in the town of Chester’s Mill.Alex Koch will play Junior Rennie. The two join previously announced Colin Ford (We Bought A Zoo) in the cast.

In “Under The Dome”, “On an entirely normal, beautiful fall day in Chester’s Mill, Maine, the town is inexplicably and suddenly sealed off from the rest of the world by an invisible force field. Planes crash into it and fall from the sky in flaming wreckage, a gardener’s hand is severed as “the dome” comes down on it, people running errands in the neighboring town are divided from their families, and cars explode on impact. No one can fathom what this barrier is, where it came from, and when — or if — it will go away.

“Under The Dome” starts on Monday, June 24 and will air in the Monday 10 PM slot.

‘Drop’ – Violett Beane Joins the Cast of Christopher Landon’s New Thriller

Christopher Landon (Happy Death Day, Freaky) is staying busy here in 2024, directing not only the werewolf movie Big Bad but also an upcoming thriller titled Drop.

The project for Blumhouse and Platinum Dunes is being described as a “fast-paced thriller,” and Deadline reports today that Violett Beane (Truth or Dare) has joined the cast.

Newcomer Jacob Robinson has also signed on to star in the mysterious thriller. Previously announced, Meghann Fahy (“White Lotus”) will be leading the cast.

Landon recently teased on Twitter, “This is my love letter to DePalma.”

Jillian Jacobs and Chris Roach wrote the script.

Michael Bay, Jason Blum, Brad Fuller and Cameron Fuller — “who brought the script in to Platinum Dunes” — are producing the upcoming Drop. Sam Lerner is an executive producer.

THR notes, “The film is a Platinum Dunes and Blumhouse production for Universal.”
