[TV] Ellen Muth Gets Gustatory With “Hannibal”
Per TV Line, Ellen Muth (pictured above; “Dead Like Me”) has been added to the cast of NBC’s “Hannibal” as a guest star. In an homage to her “Dead Like Me” character ‘George’, she’ll be playing ‘Georgia” on the cannibal-centric new show.
The Bryan Fuller-produced drama is being billed as a contemporary take on the characters from Thomas Harris’ “Red Dragon” novel that focuses on the fledgling relationship between FBI agent Will Graham (Hugh Dancy) and Lecter (Mads Mikkelsen), his mentor. Other key cast members include Lance Henriksen (Near Dark, roughly 8% of horror movies in general), Gillian Anderson (“X-Files”), Gina Torres (“Firefly”) and “Wonderfalls”’ Caroline Dhavernas.
NBC has yet to schedule a premiere date for “Hannibal.”

‘Backrooms’ Just Passed $200 Million at the Worldwide Box Office
After a record-breaking debut weekend, A24 and director Kane Parsons’ Backrooms was already a massive success story, and the liminal horror movie just passed another milestone.
Backrooms scared up an estimated $25.9 million at the U.S. box office in its second weekend, finding itself in the #3 spot behind Scary Movie and Masters of the Universe. That’s a 70% drop from the film’s massive opening weekend total of $81.4 million, which was expected.
The current domestic total for Backrooms is now $135 million, while Backrooms just passed $200 million at the worldwide box office. The current worldwide take is $212.6 million!
Backrooms is already the second highest grossing horror movie of 2026, and it’s now nipping at the heels of Obsession to claim the #1 spot. Obsession‘s worldwide total is $224.7 million at the time of this article being written, while the domestic total is currently $152.1 million.
A huge part of the story here is that the production budget for Backrooms was a reported $10 million, the kind of budget that often doesn’t result in $200+ million movies. This one was a massive success literally from the first Thursday night of release, and everything from this point forward is just adding more and more profit onto the pile for Blumhouse and A24.
