Exclusive: Eva Mendes Purrs For Role In ‘How to Catch a Monster’
Bloody Disgusting received exclusive word that Eva Mendes (Ghost Rider, 2 Fast 2 Furious) and Rob Zabrecky have been cast in Bold Films’ How to Catch a Monster, which is to be directed by Ryan Gosling.
They join the previously announced Christina Hendricks and Ben Mendelsohn.
The story is set against the surreal dreamscape of a vanishing city and centered on a single mother of two being swept into a macabre and dark fantasy underworld while her teenage son discovers a secret road leading to an underwater town.
We’re told that Mendes will play “Cat,” a prominent figire of the Big Bad Wolf Club. Zabrecky is to play a cab driver.
Shooting is scheduled for this May.

“When her father is gravely injured, Emma returns to her family home in Italy. Alone in the house while her father recovers, she encounters a haunted radio – and the evil entity behind it. With the supernatural force growing stronger by the hour, Emma must reveal the dark secret behind the radio’s curse to survive the night.”
Hypes the press release: “This tense and stylish haunted house film is a high-concept take in the vein of James Wan’s The Conjuring and Mike Flanagan’s Oculus.”
Sound of Silence will be on VOD and Digital March 9, 2023.
