Deadline announced yesterday, “Parks and Recreation” star Chris Pratt has been cast for the lead in Marvel’s “Guardians of the Galaxy”. Pratt will play Peter Quill, son of a human and an alien, who grows up to become a NASA astronaut. Eventually he takes up the mantle of the interplanetary police Star-Lord.
“Guardians of the Galaxy” opens Aug. 1, 2014.
“Guardians Of The Galaxy”, directed by James Gunn, tells of “a U.S. pilot who ends up in space in the middle of a universal conflict and goes on the run with futuristic ex-cons who have something everyone wants.”
