6 Things I Want From ‘The Evil Within’

Quick time events, or QTEs, are those fourth wall breaking messages we see in far too many horror games these days. There’s a very strong possibility that this game will incorporate them in some manner. I hope it doesn’t, because I’m just so tired of them.

For the love of god, no more QTEs.

This doesn’t require much explanation, either. Please don’t tack on a poorly conceived multiplayer component. Hell, if Dead Space 3 taught us anything it’s that even when it’s done right it doesn’t necessarily work.

There are so many multiplayer horror games these days, and none of them are very scary. How scary a game is relative for sure, but I think it’d be tough to argue that playing a horror game with a friend, or even a stranger, doesn’t make a game less terrifying. Unless they have some insanely clever way of going about it, I’d rather they stuck with crafting the most memorable single-player experience they possibly can.
