Zemons With Shotguns In Exclusive ‘Dead Before Dawn 3D’ Clipage!
Half Zombie. Half Demon. All Zemon.
An ancient curse that puts a whole new spin on the horror genre, Dead Before Dawn 3D slashes onto VOD and digital HD August 2 from Gaiam Vivendi Entertainment and Wango Films. Shot entirely in live-action stereoscopic 3D, the feature marks director April Mullen as the first and youngest female to direct a film of this kind.

Dead Before Dawn 3D stars Emmy Award winner Christopher Lloyd (Back to the Future), Devon Bostick (Diary of a Wimpy Kid Trilogy), Martha MacIsaac (Superbad), Brandon Jay McLaren (The Killing), Brittany Allen (The Rocker), Kevin McDonald (The Kids in the Hall), Kyle Schmid (A History of Violence), Rossif Sutherland (High Life) and Ellen Dubin (Napoleon Dynamite).
“Casper Galloway (Bostick) and his college friends visit an occult shop run by Casper’s grandfather (Lloyd) and accidentally unleash an evil curse, causing people to kill themselves and turn in to Zombie Demons, aka Zemons. Armed with a slew of homemade weapons and a Winnebago, the college kids race through the night, killing Zemons and fighting time while frantically searching for a way to reverse the curse within 24 hours. As the Zemon army starts to overpower the team, Casper finds himself with no choice but to face his fears and become the unlikeliest of heroes.“
Dead Before Dawn 3D, the third feature film from April Mullen and Tim Doiron’s production company WANGO Films, will be available on Video On Demand and digital HD beginning August 2 in the U.S. and Canada. The film will also be released in theaters in 3D in select theaters across the U.S. on September 6.

A gnarly infection threatens to claw its way out of a moving camper in the first trailer for Shudder’s claustrophobic Hellcat.
The feature debut of writer/editor/director Brock Bodell, who previously edited the Fantasia title Ultrasound, makes its debut on Shudder on August 14.
In Hellcat, “Lena wakes up in a moving camper trailer with a horrifying wound. She’s warned by the driver that they have one hour to get to a doctor, or she’ll succumb to an unimaginably awful fate. As the pain sets in and reality begins to fray, who should really be afraid?”
Dakota Gorman (Natural Disasters) leads the cast that also includes Todd Terry (“Breaking Bad”), Liz Atwater (The Other People), Jordan Mullins (The Bikeriders), and James Austin Johnson (“Saturday Night Live”) in a voice role. Bodell also produces alongside Andrew Duensing and Nate Eggert.
Hellcat made its world premiere last summer at Fantasia. I wrote in my review, “Hellcat is a bit of a Trojan horror that defies easy classification, by design. Bodell’s sneaky debut feature is occasionally too sparse in its worldbuilding in its bid to preserve the mystery, but not enough to detract from the thrilling road thriller that transforms into a completely left-field type of horror we don’t get nearly enough of. The stripped-down tribute to a classic horror staple catches you off guard in more ways than one, marking Bodell as one to watch.”
In other words, there’s a lot more than meets the eye to Hellcat‘s simple infection setup, delivering plenty of surprises along its bumpy road of horrors.
