Jon Barkan is back from the Fantasia Film Festival, and is primed to bring you a handful of reviews from the massive genre event that is taking Montreal by storm.
First up is a look at Takashi Miike’s return to the genre with Lesson of the Evil, about a popular high school teacher who concocts an extreme plan to deal with the rise of bullying and bad behavior among the student body.
“Miike’s return to ultra-violence is exactly what we’ve been wanting and should absolutely not be missed,” Barkan says of the director returning to his ultra-violent roots.
