Love the Friday The 13th franchise? Live in Los Angeles? Come join me on Friday, September 13th at the Aero Theater in Santa Monica for a marathon of the first four films in the series! As you guys know, I’m very passionate about this franchise so I’m very excited to be hosting and doing intros for each of the 4 films.

The whole thing starts at 5PM – there will be a little bit of a street scene outside the theater and you’re welcome to come dressed as your favorite franchise character. There will be food trucks, prizes for costumes and trivia (including some cash prizes and a few of those new Blu boxed sets) etc… The FIRST FILM will start at 730 PM and we’ll keep going until we’re done. There may even be a few special guests popping up throughout the night (more on that later). It’s also a good deal since the whole thing is only $13 (you can buy the tickets here)! I’m also giving away 10 pairs of tickets to the event and I’ll announce the details on how to win those shortly.

Here’s the official blurb, “Co-presented by Warner Bros. Home Entertainment, Bloody-Disgusting.com and Street Food Cinema: The Friday The 13th films introduced a one-man killing machine named Jason Voorhees, and just like that masked slasher they’ve proven pretty near immortal with 12 features spanning three decades. Join us as we celebrate the Warner Bros. Home Entertainment release of the Blu-ray boxed set “Friday the 13th: The Complete Collection” starting at 5:00 PM with crazed costume, trivia and scream contests for cash prizes and DVDs. Rediscover the seminal horror series (one of film history’s longest) on the big screen with its first four installments beginning at 7:30 PM.

The Aero Theater is located at 1328 Montana Ave. Santa Monica, CA 90403. See you there.

Matilda Firth Joins the Cast of Director Leigh Whannell’s ‘Wolf Man’ Movie

Filming is underway on The Invisible Man director Leigh Whannell’s Wolf Man for Universal and Blumhouse, which will be howling its way into theaters on January 17, 2025.

Deadline reports that Matilda Firth (Disenchanted) is the latest actor to sign on, joining Christopher Abbott (Poor Things),  Julia Garner (The Royal Hotel), and Sam Jaeger.

The project will mark Whannell’s second monster movie and fourth directing collaboration with Blumhouse Productions (The Invisible Man, Upgrade, Insidious: Chapter 3).

Wolf Man stars Christopher Abbott as a man whose family is being terrorized by a lethal predator.

Writers include Whannell & Corbett Tuck as well as Lauren Schuker Blum & Rebecca Angelo.

Jason Blum is producing the film. Ryan Gosling, Ken Kao, Bea Sequeira, Mel Turner and Whannell are executive producers. Wolf Man is a Blumhouse and Motel Movies production.

In the wake of the failed Dark Universe, Leigh Whannell’s The Invisible Man has been the only real success story for the Universal Monsters brand, which has been struggling with recent box office flops including the comedic Renfield and period horror movie The Last Voyage of the Demeter. Giving him the keys to the castle once more seems like a wise idea, to say the least.
