Let’s really dig into the multiplayer. For starters, the DLC modes need to go — competitive modes in a game like this doesn’t work well anyway. This leaves us with Mercenaries and Agent Hunt. The former is fine, but the latter needs a bit of fine-tuning. Like Dead Space 2’s short-lived Left 4 Dead-inspired competitive multiplayer, it isn’t well balanced. I liked Agent Hunt as a concept, it’s the execution that needs work.
As for the co-op, make it completely optional. By this, I mean I don’t want to go through the campaign with an incompetent AI if I can’t find someone to play the game with me. Look at Dead Space 3; It had co-op, but when you wanted to go alone the game didn’t burden you with an AI partner. You were actually alone.
The bits in Resident Evil 6 where two campaigns intersected and two teams of players could team up to bring down a boss is something I would like to see more of. It doesn’t always need to be obvious, it can be used in more subtle ways, like radio communications with the other team to remind you they’re there.

If only one idea is taken from this list, it needs to be this. I’m sorry Capcom, but you’re no longer allowed to use quick-time events. You’ve abused the privilege. Resident Evil 6 was a flawed game, but it’s the liberal use of QTEs that permeated every goddamn second of it that almost single-handedly ruined it for me. I can’t tell you how many times I died because one of those annoying prompts appeared on my screen, ordering me (or my human partner) to touch the controller against our nose while pirouetting as we entered a 10 button-long sequence — all in roughly 10-12 milliseconds — just to dodge an enemy’s attack.
Stop. Using. QTEs.
