Child’s Play Charity Raised $7.6 Million In 2013

The go-to gaming charity Child’s Play — which has no affiliation with our favorite murder doll — published some impressive numbers today that detail their successful funding efforts in 2013, including a total of $7.6 million raised last year that will go toward giving video games, movies, books and toys to children in over 90 hospitals around the world. Since its inception in 2003, the charity has raised an incredible $25,196,670. That’s amazing.

This is fantastic news and it proves that while the gaming community can sometimes be a hostile bunch, much of that stems from an inordinate amount of passion. Without this passion to support or defend the things we love, Child’s Play wouldn’t have seen the level of success it did last year. I sincerely hope they continue to kick butt in 2014.
