‘The Dark Tower’ Adaptation Is Still In Development Hell…
Collider spoke with Producer Akiva Goldsman about the long gestured Dark Tower adaptation, and revealed that there still isn’t any new progress being made.
“It’s not officially back on and we will never let it go – until Stephen takes it away from us,” he joked.
It’s unfortunate to share this negative news as we’re all hoping to see this massive adaptation get off the ground. Ron Howard is still attached to direct, although it’s time to stop thinking about it as Universal doesn’t appear in any rush to get it off the ground.
“The books chronicle the mysterious The Gunslinger as he travels across a desolate and vaguely post-apocalyptic landscape in his quest for a black tower. Portals along the way eventually allow contact with our own modern world.“
Spider One (Bury the Bride, Little Bites) is back in the director’s chair for this year’s Big Baby, a meta slasher that sees Brandon Scott (Dead to Me) puppeteering slasher kills in our exclusive teaser debut.
Brainstorm Media will release the film on VOD on August 7, 2026.
In the upcoming slasher, “A nightmare involving a maniac killer in a baby mask serves as inspiration for horror screenwriter Adam Lewis’s new script. As more nightmares, visions, and real life terror begin to challenge Adam’s sanity, he finds himself in a desperate struggle to control his writing, his reality, and who will be Big Baby’s next victim.”
