‘Terminator: Genesis’ Revisits Events In First ‘Terminator’?!
Paramount Pictures’ The Terminator reboot being compared to Back to the Future Part II…
Even with an April shoot scheduled for the new Terminator film, Terminator: Genesis, plot points have been incredibly slim. Yet, our friends at Moviehole have scrapped together some shocking insider details that reveal the “reboot” takes place in an alternate timeline, as opposed to retelling the exact same story.
Their source tells them that a perfect comparison title is Back to the Future Part II. “By that, he/she means that while Genesis encompasses an original plot, it also – like Back to the Future Part II, which saw Marty and Doc having to revisit the events of 1955 again for the film’s last quarter – returns to and revisits some of the most memorable moments from the first two Terminator movies.”
Better explaining, “Thanks to that ever-dependable alternate timeline device, and time-travel, Alan Taylor’s film will take us back and forward between the future, 1984 (The Terminator), 1991 (Terminator 2 : Judgement Day) and other important and influential time periods in the life of the Connor family.”
What’s incredibly unique about this concept is that the viewers will get to see scenes that happened off camera – such as scenes with young Sarah and her parents – as well as unique new reinterpretations of scenes from James Cameron’s first two films.

Alan Taylor, of Thor: The Dark World, is directing. Arnold Schwarzenegger is starring, reprising his ‘Terminator’ role, alongside Emilia Clarke as Sarah Connor, Jason Clarke as John Connor, and Jai Courtney as Kyle Reese.
Every film in the Insidious franchise has received a PG-13 rating to date from the Motion Picture Association (MPA). That streak holds strong with Insidious: Out of the Further.
The sixth and newest installment has been rated PG-13 for “strong violent content, bloody images, terror and some strong language.”
Insidious: Out of the Further opens in theaters August 21 via Sony and Blumhouse-Atomic Monster.
As its title implies, the denizens of the Further are spilling out into our world in the new film, and its new MPA rating brings a fresh batch of images.
The film follows Gemma, a young mother raising her daughter in the house she grew up in, who discovers she can travel into The Further, the purgatorial realm of lost souls at the heart of the Insidious universe.
When something evil comes after her, Gemma discovers an ability that changes everything: she doesn’t just enter The Further, she can bring what lives there back to the real world. Once the demons realize her power, our world becomes their playground.
Franchise star Lin Shaye reprises her role as Elise Rainier alongside Amelia Eve (“The Haunting of Bly Manor”) and Brandon Perea (Nope). Island Austin, and Maisie Richardson-Sellers (“Legends of Tomorrow”) star.
Sam Spruell (“A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms”) plays the malevolent entity known as Cyrus.
“[He] was truly scary,” Shaye previously teased. “When I met him on the street, I had a visceral response, which was crazy. So it’s a whole new catalog of people and even of ideas.” Get a peek at Cyrus below.
Jacob Chase (Come Play) writes and directs, sharing story credit with David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick (The Conjuring: Last Rites, Orphan). David Garbett (Evil Dead Rise) serves as director of photography.
Jason Blum, Oren Peli, James Wan, and Leigh Whannell produce, with Johnson-McGoldrick, Ryan Turek, Steven Schneider, and Brian Kavanaugh-Jones as executive producers.
