Announced back in October, Draugen is a survival horror game from the studio behind the upcoming Dreamfall Chapters. We haven’t heard much from the game since its initial reveal, but that changes today with our first official look at a game that Red Thread studio head Ragnar Tørnquist describes as “HP Lovecraft meets Dostoyevsky,” or “Gone Home meets Amnesia.”
Draugen is inspired by Scandinavian literature, including its ancient legends and fairytales. The game is set in the 1920’s and takes us to a remote fishing village that sits on the ridiculously beautiful Norwegian west coast. Apparently, the village’s inhabitants have mysteriously vanished. It’s like a Norwegian version of the creepy Roanoke legend.
Draugen is slated to release sometime in 2015.
