Growing up my two favorite comic book characters were Psylocke and Gambit.
When Gambit made a short appearance in Wolverine, it gave me chills. But I wanted more. Thankfully, he’s going to have a strong role in FOX’s planned X-Men spinoff, Gambit. Bryan Singer is directing the next sequel, X-Men: Apocalypse. We can only assume he’ll also play a role in the that.
The big news comes via Total Film, who got producer Lauren Shuler Donner to confirm that Channing Tatum will in fact shuffle the cards for the next “X-Men” adaptation.
“Well you know he’s a rogue, Channing. He’s a rascal, just like Remy LeBeau, and he can handle the action, we all know that. He’s got a really good heart, because I know him personally, I did a movie with him. So I think he’ll be great, he’ll be great for Gambit, and he’s a southerner too, he’s not from New Orleans but he is a southerner and he understands that world, and you know Gambit loves New Orleans.”
He’ll be taking over the role from Taylor Kitsch, who played the character in X-Men Origins: Wolverine.
