46 years ago today Roman Polanski’s terrifying occult horror Rosemary’s Baby was released in theaters.
Starring Mia Farrow, John Cassavetes and Ruth Gordon, and produced by the great William Castle, “A young couple move into a new apartment, only to be surrounded by peculiar neighbors and occurrences. When the wife becomes mysteriously pregnant, paranoia over the safety of her unborn child begins controlling her life.”
The pic, which recent was remade as a television minseries, is based on the bestselling 1967 novel of the same name by Ira Levin.
Made for a mere $3M, the film was a blockbuster success taking in over $30M at the box office.
