Fans of the 1982 sci-fi adventure film Tron can now get excited once again as the soundtrack, composed by Wendy Carlos (who was also a composer for Kubrick’s The Shining), is getting a 180-gram 2xLP release this summer in translucent blue.
The distinctive gatefold jacket holds two 180g translucent blue vinyl records and includes colorful photos from the popular cult film as well as generous and informative liner notes written by the composer as well as music maven, Michael Fremer who, at the time, served as the film’s soundtrack supervisor. Fremer also oversaw the Audio Fidelity mastering by Kevin Gray at Cohearent Audio.
The original vinyl release of the film’s soundtrack crammed 50-ish minutes onto one vinyl, which cased some audio degradation. You can see an image of the translucent blue below.
