I’m starting to feel that Columbia Pictures’ Ghostbusters III is about as real as ghosts.
A report from this new blogger claimed that Chronicle‘s Max Landis was working on a new draft for the sequel with a three-week turnaround. Landis quickly responded and has debunked the story – see the below tweet. Hopefully the blog is also wrong about Fleischer…
The blogger had reported a source told them that Landis was “doing more of a ‘polish’ than a Page 1 rewrite,” and that Sony apparently saw some of Landis’ latest, Victor Frankenstein as a courtesy from Fox and loved it.
They also stated that the execs are mostly happy with it and believe that “all the parts are there, as in beats, structural mechanics, etc, but they’re not all doing their jobs”, while adding that Ruben Fleischer is not seriously in the mix at this point. Even without Fleischer they’re hoping Bill Murray returns to the project.
Hey guys, it pains me to say this, but you know I pride myself on being straight up person. Zero truth to the Ghostbusters report.

Frankenstein, Me Him Her, American Ultra and Mr. Right come out next year. Working on things at Uni and Sony, and indies. GB3, sadly, no.
