As we all cautiously step into the fifth day of Steam’s Summer Sale, which grows hungrier for the sustenance that only the money from our wallets can provide, we have some new deals. For the most part, today isn’t nearly as exciting as the previous days, but there are two standouts for horror fans. For starters, we have Phosphor Game’s survival horror MMO Nether starting at $2.99 (80% off) for the Watcher pack, and From Software’s unforgiving dark fantasy RPG Dark Souls Prepare to Die Edition is currently $4.99 (75% off).
I haven’t spent enough time with the former to give a solid opinion of it, but I have T. Blake Braddy working on a review that’ll go up later this week. As for Dark Souls, well, that’s only worth your time (and money) if you can handle its steep learning curve and total refusal to hold your hand. It’s a tough game, but it’s also one of the most rewarding experiences you’re ever likely to glean from a video game.
