CBS Films has tapped Predators writer Michael Finch to work on Deus Ex, its adaptation of the acclaimed video game, says THR.
“Deus Ex” is a Square Enix game that was introduced in 2000 and spawned a sequel and a prequel, racking up awards and millions in sales. A new game titled “Deus Ex: Universe” is next.
The movie is taking its cues from origin-oriented “Deus Ex: Human Revolution” and focuses on, Adam Jensen, an ex-SWAT security specialist who undergoes mechanical augmentation in order to unravel a global conspiracy.
Sinister and Deliver Us From Evil‘s Scott Derrickson and Sinister‘s Robert Cargill previously worked on the script. Derrickson was initially attached to direct but is now working on Doctor Strange for Marvel.
Roy Lee (The Ring, Poltergeist) and Adrian Askarieh are producing.
