Indie Horror ‘Darkwood’ Available Now On Steam

The top-down indie horror game Darkwood is the latest to hit Steam Early Access. If you’ve missed our coverage of the game so far, it has a procedurally generated world that guarantees each playthrough is different from the last. Its focus on exploration and survival, along with its leveling system, steep difficulty and permadeath make it part RPG, part roguelike. If you can handle it, Darkwood sounds like an extremely rewarding horror game.

If you grab Darkwood on Steam by July 31, you can get it for $13.49 (10% off).

Now, before you drop any money on this, you should know that because this game is in Early Access that means it’s a work-in-progress. Since it’s still largely unfinished, bugs will be present and some may even be serious. The biggest issue so far seems to be a wonky save system that makes loading saves unreliable. The developer is aware of the issue and they’re working on fixing it.
