According to an Instagram post by Grimey’s New & Preloved Music, which is based in Nashville, alt/funk metal band Primus will be releasing a new album this fall, on October 21st. There is no word on the album’s title, which will be the follow up to 2011’s Green Naugahyde. You can see the Instagram photo below.
In an interview with SF Weekly, Les Claypool stated:
Yeah, we’re working on the Primus record. We’re basically recording the music that we played on New Year’s, the Willy Wonka soundtrack. I should say our interpretation of the Willy Wonka soundtrack.
Primus drummer Tim Alexander recently had a heart attack and went through open heart surgery, which was considered a success.
