‘Evolve’ Has Been Delayed to February 2015

Looks like we’ll all have to wait a few more months to unleash our inner Krakens, as 2K has announced their decision to push Evolve into next year. The extra few months of development time will be used to polish up the game a bit and ensure that it’s the best game it can possibly be. Evolve will now release on February 10, 2015.

For those keeping count, this is the sixth major 2014 release to get pushed back into 2015. Evolve’s delay was preceded by Batman: Arkham Knight, Battlefield: Hardline, Dying Light, The Order: 1886, and The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.

2K has since released a statement explaining their decision to delay Evolve:

“As stated on the Take-Two Interactive earnings call, 2K and Turtle Rock Studios are extending the development of Evolve by a few months to allow enough time to fully realize the vision for Evolve and meet our collective standards of creative excellence. We are encouraged by the press reaction and fan excitement coming out of a very successful E3, and we are now certain we are headed in the right direction with the game and we are confident in delivering a genre-defining product when Evolve launches on February 10, 2015.”
