Finnish record label Blood Music was pretty stunned by the popularity of their Perturbator Dangerous Days release. So much so, in fact, that they are going to repress it for another limited edition run, this time in a rather incredible looking glow-in-the-dark transparent green!
People who have gotten glow-in-the-dark vinyl know that the audio quality can suffer greatly due to the process but Blood Music ensured that this would not happen.
Blood Music explains:
Regarding the specialty vinyl we mentioned in the Perturbator “Dangerous Days” repress. We’ve decided to go ahead and spring for a Glow-in-the-Dark pressing, which costs us 7 TIMES (!!) the LP materials-cost of pressing normal black vinyl.
We do realize that other labels have attempted Glow-in-the-Dark pressings, but almost all of those records are pressed into gimmicky cheap plastic in order to obtain the desired effect for a reasonable price. We were told by the head of vinyl production that in his entire time at our plant, only one other label – a VERY MAJOR label – has ever ordered this from them.
Why? This is going to be pressed onto actual audiophile-quality virgin vinyl, and the color must be specially mixed just for us for a one time pressing just for them. No one else is crazy enough to spring for this sort of thing.
We’ve already received several advance orders from employees at the plant because some of them have never even seen this before.
This will be a strictly limited one-time pressing, and we will not repress this color, just as we will not repress the original Perturbator splatter config.
