THR writes that Zackary Arthur will play Chloe Grace Moretz’s younger brother in The 5th Wave, Sony’s upcoming YA adaptation of the popular book by Rick Yancey. The role is central to the story because Moretz’s character’s main motivation is to rescue her sibling, explains the site.
“The story centers on 16-year-old Cassie Sullivan (Moretz) who is one of only a few humans who has survived five waves of alien attacks on Earth. She’s determined to save her younger brother, Sammy, who is being held captive at an alien compound. But because the aliens, who look like humans, are everywhere, she is unable to trust anyone to help her.”
Jurassic World actor Nick Robinson and British newcomer Alex Roe also star in the film along with Maika Monroe and Liev Schreiber.
J Blakeson (The Disappearance of Alice Creed) is directing the project, which was written by Susannah Grant.
