SPACELAB9 has announced that they will be releasing Clinton Shorter‘s soundtrack to the incredible 2009 sci-fi/action film District 9 for the first time on vinyl. The deluxe double LP will feature the original 30 minute score as well as an additional eight tracks of never-before-released tracks that add 25 minutes.
The Deluxe Double LP package includes a full color gatefold jacket, a double-sided 12” x 24” insert featuring exclusive liner notes from director Neill Blomkamp and film composer Clinton Shorter as well as a reproduction of the original theatrical lobby card.
Pre-orders for the album will go live on October 28th. There will be an extremely limited colored vinyl copy edition that will be, “…packaged in hand-screened jackets featuring unique artwork and an exclusive 18” x 24” insert.”
